somedad.io · the signal chain

One person. One signal chain.

Every SomeDad film runs the same pipeline: song, then film, then release. No team, no outsourcing — one chain from lyric to premiere. Here's the whole thing.

The chain

  1. 01 · Write — Lyric and melody first — structure, hook, and the story the film has to tell. Nothing downstream starts until the song stands on its own.
  2. 02 · Produce — Arrangement, instrumentation, and performance. The track is mixed to final intent here so the edit can lock to it later.
  3. 03 · Master — Loudness, tone, and headroom set for release across every platform. The master is archived; SomeDad Entertainment keeps it.
  4. 04 · Shot list — The song is broken into beats and each beat gets a frame: world, subject, camera, light. This is the film on paper.
  5. 05 · Generate — Each shot is produced to the list, held to a consistent world and palette. Takes that miss the intent are cut, not kept.
  6. 06 · Edit — Picture is assembled and cut to the master — shot for shot, locked to the beat. Pacing is a music decision, not a visual one.
  7. 07 · Grade — Colour and finish unify the film into one world. Grain, bloom, and the oscilloscope motif tie it to the brand.
  8. 08 · Release — Premiere on the channel with live chat, then into the catalog on somedad.com, the world index on somedad.world, and audio on somedad.fm.

Principles

  • Own the masters. Every song and every film is controlled by SomeDad Entertainment LLC. Licensing and sync go through the studio directly.
  • Ship finished films. Full-length, graded, cut to the master. Not clips, not teasers.
  • Zero-cookie surfaces. Every SomeDad site — this one included — sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts, and cannot single a visitor out.
  • The song is the source of truth. Pacing, length, and structure of the film all defer to the track.
